Educational Foundation Annual Scrapbooking Event January 28 and 29 - Join us for the Grass Lake Educational Foundation's Annual Scrapbooking event at Grass Lake High School on Saturday, January 28, 2012, from 9 AM to 11 PM, and Sunday, January 29, 2012, from 9 AM to 4 PM. Participants can pay at the door on the days of the event. $55 for Saturday and Sunday, $40 for Saturday only. $25 for Sunday only. Department Announcements ![]() Grass Lake Cheerleaders Participate in Capitol One Bowl HalftimeCongratulations to Grass Lake Cheerleaders Faith Molnar, Kyleigh Lessard, Stephenie Bisard and Juliana Paterra (shown L-R) for their participation in the 2012 All-American Halftime Show during the Capitol One Bowl in Orlando, Florida on Monday, January 2. The Capital One Bowl invites talented Cheerleaders, Pom Squads, Dancers, Twirlers, and Flags from across the country to perform in the Annual All American Halftime Show. ![]() 3/24/12 Warrior Club Cash Bash Tickets on SaleThe Grass Lake Warrior Club is once again having its annual Cash Bash on Saturday March 24, 2012. Tickets are $75 per couple and only 200 tickets will be sold. If you buy your ticket prior to February 6th you will be entered into an extra early bird drawing worth $150.00. Grand Prize is $2000 and the ticket includes dinner, dancing and lots of fun. Tickets are available in the high school office or by contacting a Warrior Club Member. ![]() The Citizen Patriot 2011 Girls Basketball Preview Tab is Now Online.Click here and then click on Grass Lake to find out who is on our team and what the Cit Pat is saying about our potential this year. ![]() Sports and Trail Recreation Park Trail Ready for UseNearly 2 miles of grass and stoned walking trails are now available for use by the public at the Grass Lake Community Sports and Trails Recreation Park located on Willis Road between W. Michigan Avenue and Winegar Road. The majority of the funding for the project came from a grant from the Chelsea Area Wellness Foundation. The Foundation gave the township a $42,000 grant to help with the trails. The remainder of the $44,600 bid was donated by the contractor on the job, Bailey Sand and Gravel. Rubingh Receives Special Mention on All-Area TeamGrass Lake High School Senior Sydney Rubingh has been placed on the Jackson Citizen Patriot All-Area Team as a Special Mention. Sydney qualified for the State Meet, placed 10th at D-3 regional (19:52), and fifth at the Cascades championship (20:27). Click here to see the entire team. Congratulations and good work Sydney!

Click here for the story about Steven.![]() Lesinski MIAA Defensive Player the Week and All-America NomineeGrass Lake Grad John Lesinski, senior linebacker for Albion College, continues to garner awards and recognition for his play on the field and his work in the classroom. John, a linebacker on the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association leading Albion Briton football team, was named the MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for his play against formerly unbeaten Albion College. John had 12 tackles in the game and an interception to help the Britons remain undefeated in the conference. Click here to see the Citizen Patriot story. John has also been nominated for Capital One Academic All-America honors selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. Congratulations John!
![]() Sydney Rubingh Qualifies for Cross Country State FinalsAt the Cross Country Regional Meet at Ella Sharpe Park on Saturday, October 29, Grass Lake High School Senior Sydney Rubingh qualified for the MHSAA State Finals meet at the Michigan International Speedway on Saturday, November 5, at 10:30 AM. Sydney finished 10th in the Regional meet. Best of luck as she runs against the best runners in the lower peninsula of Michigan.
![]() GLHS Grad John Lesinski Nominated for Scholar-Athlete AwardAlbion College senior inside linebacker John Lesinski is one of 127 candidates for the National Football Foundation National Scholar-Athlete Awards. The 127 nominees also comprise the list of semifinalists for the 2011 William V. Campbell Trophy, which recognizes an individual as the absolute best scholar-athlete in the nation.
A product of Grass Lake, Lesinski is the only candidate from the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association and one of only 30 in all Division III. The physical education major has twice achieved distinction on Albion’s Dean’s List and he was named to the MIAA’s Academic Honor Roll at the end of the 2010-2011 academic year. |
